Digital Technologies

Tua Marina School is future focused and integrates technology in everyday learning in a meaningful and balanced way.

We have a 1:1 ratio of devices per child so that everyone has easy access to the internet. Devices are varied and include chromebooks, laptops, desktops, and tablets. We have a BYOD (Bring your own device) procedure which also allows children to bring devices from home.

Each classroom has a data projector and visualiser so that teachers and students can share and access learning via a big screen.

Tua Marina School has recently particpated in Ministry of Education contracts including 'Blended e-Learning' and 'Learning with Digital Technologies'. These ensure that our staff are current with trends in ICT and the impact they have on learning.

We are also a Google Apps for Education School which means that each child has their own gmail address that allows them to use google drive and share their learning online with family, teachers, and peers in a secure environment.

Digital technologies are used to access information, collaborate with others, share learning, and improve skills. Digital technologies are integrated throughout the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning. However the use of technologies is balanced with other forms of learning to ensure a well rounded education.
